So my whole downstairs region is so sore and swollen :(

I went to the dr the other day and she said it looked like thrush (it hasn’t budged and I had it prior to the pregnancy) and she’s taken a swap and giving me some pessaries but I’m so uncomfortable :(

I’ve had a couple of drops in my underwear and after wiping which
My doctor thinks is caused by thrush

Any advice :( meant to be going to work today but I can barely sit down

You need to buy the canesten external cream, it soothes the area whilst treating it. Also Vagisil to stop the itching. Both work a treat.

Ah bless you. I had this for about 10 weeks - I ended up having a canestan pessary prescribed by my doctor every week until it finally went. I also had some bleeding which Midwife said was because of the thrush. It went from week 13-23. It was miserable! GP also prescribed hydramol to wash with and use as a barrier so having a wee doesn’t make it sting more and the canestan with steroid to take down the inflammation. They all together made it bearable. How many weeks are you?

Oh I feel for you. Im just getting rid of thrush I've had for 6 weeks. Ive done 2 pessarys and am using something called multi gyne actigel. So much relief!

Wish my doctor was as generous with prescription! I have been in agony for the past 3/4 weeks with it and my doctor (not my usual one) brushed me off and told me to just drink water. He was awful and rude. Made me feel so uncomfortable that its made me now not want to go back!

Just one rude part of my visit was when he abruptly asked if I was married and when I said no he raised his voice and said 'why?!'

Sorry for the rant but saw this post and thought it was appropriate! Grin

Cry drink cranberry juice, that is what I have read online. X

Poor you. Also worth taking a daily probiotic tablet - this really helped me as a preventive measure

Ells0204 · 26/07/2018 17:13

The Flora Multigyn applicators are a Godsend for me! I became immune to over the counter medicines. That and a probiotic every day. Also try and get some Kefir to drink, unflavoured. Although please consult a Dr before drinking it as I don’t know how safe it is in pregnancy. It tastes like sour sick but it relieved my thrush symptoms in less than an hour, it really tackles it from the inside!!
