I feel like this week is one thing after another I'm having to ask for advice on! Is anyone else finding it hard to breathe in this weather? I feel like I'm not getting enough air if that makes sense anyone else??Confused

How far along are you? It might be that your uterus pressing on your lungs, or progesterone affects your breathing too. Can be perfectly normal but ask the doctor if you're worried.

I'm 23 weeks, I'm going away for a few days today so not able to make an appt. However i have a midwife appointment next week anyway so I can mention it then. I'm not sure if stress is attributing to it also it's been a horrible week

You could be low in iron have your levels been checked recently? I struggled in my last pregnancy due to low iron and hyperemisis. The tablets and medicine made me vomit. I used spatone and beetroot juice at 33 weeks when the vomited finally stopped and my levels increased very quickly.

I'm 22 weeks and get it sometime too. And even when I don't feel it other people have noticed, especially if I'm on the phone while walking, people keep asking why I'm out of breath.

Have a good trip and mention to midwife next week Smile

I felt light headed and out of breathe. I just wanted to lay down!

Spatone is over the counter (boots have it) you can take 2 a day during pregnancy.

When you say you feel you can't get enough air, would say you were having breathing difficulties? I know you say you're going away today, but I think you might need some proper medical advice.

jlm2514 · 25/07/2018 06:53

I haven't had my iron levels checked since booking in, my previous pregnancy I was on iron tablets so could be that again I'll mention it next week.
I wouldn't say breathing difficulties no' I'm not gasping for breath etc and my pulse is fine. It seems to be more so when the weather is like this I don't notice it much any other time. However I do have bad anxiety and this week it has been through the roof

I suffered with this during my first pregnancy. Just felt like I wasn’t getting enough air at times. It would come and go. Never got to the bottom of it but I did have to have lots of checks and spent some time in hospital on oxygen.

jlm2514 · 25/07/2018 07:57

That's how I feel @PrudenceDear like I'm not getting enough. I'm going to try the spatone see if that's any help then mention it at my appt next week

I'm the same, like I can't fill my lungs up enough. I've assumed it's because I'm nearly 38 weeks and my organs are being squashed!!!

surreygirl1987 · 25/07/2018 09:24

I have it too. I think it's partly how I sit - my bra is squishing me a bit! Heat doesn't help either :(

Timeforanothernewone · 25/07/2018 09:27

I had this during pregnancy. Oxygen levels were fine, I wasn't far along enough for it to be the baby squashing me. Took until about 6 weeks after baby was born to go away. I put it down to a reaction to the whooping cough vaccine in the end. They refused to give me the vaccine for my second pregnancy and I didn't get it that time
