Symptoms before labour

38 wks so wondering what symptoms people got before they went into labour... interested to hear!

None whatsoever either time. At 38 weeks with DD and 37 weeks with DS, my waters broke out of the blue.

Oh really! Interesting to hear someone say that it’s randomly happened, glad I’ve got my mattress protector on now

About two or three days before I went into labour, I had a terrible night of vomiting and diarrhoea. I wasn't ill as such, my digestive system just went into shutdown. My waters didn't break until I was in hospital and fully dilated.

Second time was in bed too! I felt it happen however and leapt up. The bed was fine. The carpet however...

Oh I’ve heard about upset stomach and sickness as a bit of an indicator!

So towels on the carpet maybe too then?

I just remember feeling boiling hot, restless & not much appetite. My waters broke a few hours later.

I suspect the vomming etc was caused by the fact that I didn't actually have much appetite but just kept eating anyway.

Period like pains every other morning for about 2 weeks before. Jumped up every time thinking it was time then they would go. Woke up yet another morning with them. Just ignored it but this time my waters broke in bed. Had my little girl 3 hours later x

I had a bit of an upset stomach a few days before, but nothing major and not enough to recognise as a sign.

Mine started with contractions very different to Braxton Hicks. My waters didn’t go until I’d been pushing for half an hour!

I’ll be symptom spotting in a different way to pre pregnancy now!
