Hi everyone. I have posted this before but have requested it be removed as the scan photos revealed my full name... D'OH.

I went for an early reassurance scan today after suffering a missed miscarriage with my last pregnancy.

We were able to see bean and a lovely strong heartbeat, and he/she is measuring perfectly for dates (thought I was 7w 1d and I am :) ). We are thrilled!

However, am I wrong for thinking the sac is a weird shape? Most scan pictures I've seen, the sac is round!

The sonographer made no mention of this either by mouth or in the report, she said everything looked good. Report said ' live intrauterine pregnancy' which I assume is good!

I'm probably worrying over nothing :D

CobaltRose have you considered counselling? Your GP could probably refer you.

Or Mindfulness can help.

Looks good to me OP.

If the sonographer isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either. The must have seen hundreds if not thousands of sacs :) mine was banana shaped!

flumpybear · 24/07/2018 21:57

You'll never get a good angle!! If baby is ok then crack on being pleased and pregnant

Good luck 😁

BlueBug45 · 24/07/2018 21:58

Mine wasn't round. Though I was in a bit of a shock as I didn't realise i was pregnant at the time.

Oh and as a PP said you should get counselling as there are unpleasant things that happen in early pregnancy and you need to be able to deal with them instead of thinking there is something wrong each time.

I had this! It's to do with the shape of your bladder apparently. Nothing to do with health of pregnancy! You can breathe a sigh of relief OP.

CobaltRose · 24/07/2018 22:00

@enbh, ah, makes sense. The sonographer did say my bladder was very very full. It certainly felt like it Grin

Thanks to everyone else too. I agree that counselling may be wise. I'm naturally an anxious person anyway and my previous loss has only made it worse. Thanks Cake

Mine looked like Pac-Man because of my bladder! I was almost in tears I needed a wee so much, congratulations ThanksSmile

I used to be really anxious as well.
Weirdly it’s got a bit better as I’ve got older.

I had counselling after I lost my last baby. I was nearly 15 weeks it’s horrific having a miscarriage. I totally lost the plot.

It would be nice if you could enjoy the pregnancy, counselling or mindfulness could really help.
