Overactive thyroid

Hello,
I am 16 weeks pregnant and have recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. I have had an overactive thyroid previously but not whilst pregnant and it eventually settled. I am just wondering what other people’s experience was being pregnant with an overactive thyroid. I spoke to the doctors 10 days ago and she said she would refer me to obstestrician but I’m not sure how long this is likely to take or the urgency of the situation. I’m currently on no medication and at 12 week scan the baby as fine.
Thank you Smile

Hey,

I’m 12 weeks and I too have been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, I’ve never had an issue with my thyroid before.

I’ve been having awful sickness since week 7 (seems to be easing a little) and have lost quite a bit of weight.

I am having another blood test this week to check the levels again (first test was 3 weeks ago). I’ve been told it should rectify itself. Keeping my fingers crossed it does otherwise I will be referred to an Endocrinologist for further tests.

I had an early scan at 6 weeks and all looked well and I’m having my 12 week scan tomorrow Smile
