Hello everyone.

So I had a kidney infection not long ago and was given Ciprofloxacin. At this time I didn’t know I was pregnant. Works out I ovulated approx 30th June and then took the weeks worth of antibiotics 3rd July. I have now just found out I am roughly 5 weeks pregnant based on first day of last period. Anyone been in same situation? Says online the antibiotics are not suitable for pregnant women. Doctor said it shouldn’t effect anything this early on.. but I panic haha. Any advice? X

If you ovulated 30th June and then had antibiotics from 3rd--10th July your pregnancy may well have not even implanted until after your antibiotic course, or late into the course. Not implanted = no shared blood supply! There is some information here about ciprofloxacin in pregnancy which I hope you will find reassuring www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/Quinolone-antibiotics/
