I'm 26+3 and have been having cramping feelings. started yest eve with a pain which felt v much like an early contraction (second pregnancy). it lasted about 30 seconds. i was watching telly so sitting down and not moving. it died down a bit after that and i did sleep last night but cramping still there in background - tho mild. phoned midwife at day assesment unit but all she'd say is 'if you're worried go to labour ward'. of course i'm worried but i need to know how concerned i should be. anyone any experience of this or advice? baby is still moving and can feel her. thanks for any help you can give.

get down to the unit and be checked. I know you always feel like a pain in the bum, but who cares, this is your LO and your health at stake...

go one...

off you go...

oh, and I'm sure its nothing to worry about either, braxtons perhaps? Did you get these with your other PGs?

no, never did get any braxtons last time. i am due to have a glucose test at lunchtime so i'll wait until then and talk to midwife again - hopefully it'll either be another one or they'll be a bit more expansive in person. seems an odd thing for them to pass the buck to me and say 'do this if you're worried'. if i hadn't been concerned i wouldn't have phoned them! but yes, you're right. when it doubt, check it out.

You really should check in to the labour ward just in case. I know its a pain (and speaking as someone who generally has to do it about once a week because of bleeding I really do understand just how much of a pain it is) but you need to be on the safe side.

It's prob fine but you'll be much happier if you now for sure....
