Bleeding in early pregnancy

Has anyone experienced bleeding in early pregnancy, and did it have a positive outcome?

I found out I’m pregnant four days ago. We have been TTC for quite a while, but I’m breastfeeding and my cycles haven’t returned yet, and I was so happy and surprised that we had managed to catch the first egg.

I’m still VERY early in the pregnancy, only 11DPO today. But three days ago, I started spotting, and then bleeding.

I went to the Early Pregnancy Unit yesterday and they did a test to confirm that I am pregnant, and they checked my cervix was closed (it was).

The hospital took a blood test, and my HCG levels came in low at 8 - but at only 3w4d that is within the normal range, and my pregnancy test lines are getting darker every day.

I’m still bleeding on and off, like a light to medium period.

I was just wondering if it’s possible to have a bleed - more than spotting, for several days - and for there to be a positive outcome? I’ve worked myself up into a ball of anxiety and feel like I’m stuck in limbo.

The lines on my pregnancy tests are definitely progressing. I want to feel hopeful, but it's really difficult.

Picture is from today, 11DPO and 3w4d

Short answer, yes, with my first pregnancy I had bleeding from week 4 of my pregnancy (I thought I had a period and wasn't pregnant) to week 9.

It started light and in week 5 it became heavy and gushing with clots but my LO stuck in there and is now 3yrs old.

I read a lot of these threads at the time and bleeding is remarkably common though it should be said it can often have a negative outcome too.
Nearly scan showed I had a clot in my uterus and it was just luck that it was nowhere near the implantation site

Will also say that's a very old line for 11dpo

Sorry I mean "good" line!

@boatrace30 thank you. I know there is no guarantee, but hearing that a positive outcome is possible really helps me keep a bit of faith at the moment.

I'm really glad everything turned out fine for you. I hope there's a similar reason behind my bleed too.
