I find myself hanging on every Braxton Hicks and bit of pressure! Hoping next time I stand up will be when waters break.
I know it will happen when it's ready, but I have lost a fair bit of my plug yesterday. Had some uncomfortable Braxton Hicks whole on my birthing ball last night and woke up feel nauseous as hell!

Just wanted to know is what your personal early labour signs were? Any odd ones??

  • excited expectant here - can you tell? 🤭

Following as sounds like me atm apart from you sound like your a step ahead with mp how many weeks are you?

shonkyklingonmakeup · 22/07/2018 06:02

I had loads of weak but reasonably painful contractions for about four weeks. Threw up most nights. Had loose poops most nights. Every night for four weeks was absolutely sure I was starting.
The first thing that happened that was different and signalled the start of labour proper, was losing the mucus plug.

My waters didn't go until the midwife put a monitoring cup on my baby's head after she couldn't get those belly bands to work.

Good luck, sounds like you're almost there if you're anything like me!

@shonkyklingonmakeup thanks for the reply, my waters went first with my first baby so this is quite new to me!

@lmx0 I'm exactly 38 weeks today (had first baby at 38+1) think losing my if is thanks to a doctor who gave me a sweep on Tuesday.. had a bloody show but now I'm losing loads of thick plug

FTM so no experience but good luck :-) Hope you have your baby soon!

Hjkillas · 22/07/2018 09:29

Thankyou! If I sit with my knees apart and lean forward a bit I get lightening crotch so I'm hoping I can home in on that and bounce on my ball.

Try and get babies head to do some work on that cervix! 😁

I'm 37 weeks and desperately looking for signs Grin

Shmithecat · 22/07/2018 09:32

I had none until my waters broke. Ds was born 12 hours later.

OhBergine · 22/07/2018 09:41

First time it was my waters breaking at 40+6 (a big "pop" and then lots of gushing!).

Second time it was feeling really weepy (crying for no reason) and diarrhoea.

Hjkillas · 22/07/2018 09:43

@OhBergine my first was the same so this is why I'm searching for signs!
Definitely having a clear out for the last 2 or 3 days. Hoping they all mean it's getting close

🤞🤞🤞

I had no signs at all and suddenly strong contractions started only about 3 minutes apart from eachother! Baby arrived 6 hours after first contraction.

Weirdly though, I had a funny feeling the evening I went into labour and did a quick clean up downstairs "just in case" baby would come. Almost like I sort of knew.

Potkettleblack2 · 22/07/2018 19:48

With both of mine i was unvbelieveably teary and emotional in the 12 hours before my waters broke. (Waters broke without contractions both times too). I didnt realise what was happening emotion-wise at the time, but in hindsight it was a definite first sign. I wonder will the same happen with number 3!

Hjkillas · 23/07/2018 00:37

Also to add, I seem to have a few spots on my chin/cheek today!
Sign of a hormone spike maybe 🤞🤞
