If one more person asks me this I might scream commit murder

Yes I know I'm huge, I'm feeling it! Can anyone else cheer me up/ commiserate with other stupid comments their getting?

I've had this constantly thus time around. I'm 29 weeks and baby is now officially measuring big-I have recently been diagnosed with GD. It's so annoying, the people who say it must think they're the only ones Confused

Stephisaur · 22/07/2018 00:25

I had this last night. I’m 18 weeks.

I very almost pointed out that it’s still mostly cake at this point!

Fatted · 22/07/2018 00:27

I had this all the time with my two, especially my youngest. My response was no I'm just fat love. Shut them right up.

Nothisispatrick · 22/07/2018 00:30

I've had this several times. Had my bump measured on Tuesday and it's bang where it is supposed to be on the graph. Feel like carrying the damn graph round with me so I can prove to people I'm not even big!

Yep. "you sure there's only one baby in there"
"Oh you poor thing, this heat must be killing you"
"My gosh you're about to pop aren't you?"

Would you politely piss off! Haha grumpy and so ready to give birth now.. bloody people can't help but coo over big bellys. My neighbour said oooh can I touch it! I felt very awkward and was like if you want... What am I supposed to do? "Nah bitch grow your own!" Haha

Eeeeek2 · 22/07/2018 08:35

At least I'm not the only one! I'm feeling like a beached whale and waddling already bloody spd I really don't need reminding that I'm huuuuuggggeeeee.

My other personal favourite 'how long you can't possibly have 4 months left to go!'

Im 30 weeks and have had this constantly throughout my pregnancy. I do have a large bump but ive only gained 9lbs since i got pregnant which i don't think is alot tbh.

I wouldn't mind but everyone who has said it to me is far from skinny themselves. Sometimes I feel like saying "im pregnant whats your excuse". But id never say that because i would never want to make someone feel bad about themselves. Shame others don't feel the same.

lozengeoflove · 22/07/2018 14:26

Ugh. Every single pregnancy.
I was actually almost hoping for twins this time around, just so that I can say “yes, it’s bloody twins” Angry

LadyPenelopeCantDance · 22/07/2018 14:29

People just don’t think.

I had a woman come up to me and say “blooming heck, that baby must be boiling in there”. I wanted to say “well maybe I should never leave the house when it’s more than 20 degrees again”.

userabcname · 22/07/2018 14:34

I had this constantly when pregnant usually followed by "only one? Well he is going to be HUGE!" Er, thanks. Ignore, ignore, ignore.

MamOfFrankie · 22/07/2018 14:38

Constantly being told I "must be struggling in this heat". What gave it away - the face sweat or the damp patches under my arms / boobs / bump?

doodlejump1980 · 22/07/2018 14:39

I had this, but then I WAS pregnant with twins. They just upped it and said “are you sure it’s not THREE?” People are such tw*ts And you won’t be pregnant forever. I had a 55inch waist the morning I had them. Now that’s huge... :)

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 22/07/2018 15:08

I get this all the time. It really annoys me and I'm finding it increasingly difficult not to let my irritation show as I'm actually getting really anxious about delivering a big baby and people's stupid comments aren't helping.

Defnotunique · 22/07/2018 20:01

I am so so so fed up of hearing this! I've been showing since 8 weeks and i am like a beached whale. So fed up of people asking if its twins....i know there's only 1..... the 5 scans would have shown something up by now....so if you could please KINDLY do one id really appreciate it!
So ive attached a pic for you all..... I'm 23 weeks......

splendidsqueak7 · 22/07/2018 20:16

That’s a beautiful bump @Defnotunique - congrats lady :)

I get a comment on my bump size every. damn. day. I’ve started to translate: I think it’s awkward-speak for ‘hey you’re doing a really great job growing that baby’, or that’s what I choose to hear anyway. Although today all the mums at the Sunday school group I run were super sweet and said how well I looked and how nice my bump was. I’m cherishing those remarks and trying to stay calm when I get yet another chorus of ‘sure it’s only 1 baby’

Defnotunique · 22/07/2018 20:32

We're literally away camping with the inlaws....mil literally 2 mins after posting my response, said "it could be twins" ahghhjhhhg lol.
Thank you @splendidsqueak7, I love my bump I just don't like the constant remarks. Makes me feel like heffalump! X

DrWhy · 22/07/2018 20:41

I got this all the way through my previous pregnancy, fortunately my lovely midwife just kept saying ‘ah, you’re only measuring a wee bitty big’ and I knew our family tended to have big babies. DS was 9lb 6oz in the end and the birth was absolutely fine - so please don’t worry about that.

LostMyBaubles · 22/07/2018 20:46

Yuuup
Everyday.
By tape measure baby measured 8 weeks ahead
By scan 4 weeks ahead
34 weeks next week. Yes my bump is big.
Yes it fucking hurts
Yes its warm.

Just tough lol.
my last baby was 10lb at 38 weeks

I actually very rudely replied to someone once.
Just had enough.
Was in asda and I almost bit her head off. Hubby was shocked as I dont normally react.
Poor lady lol.
She wont ask anyone again.

MrSpock · 22/07/2018 22:01

I’m having twins and I get the opposite. My bump is tiny, even for one baby, so get “WHAT?! Really?! Where?” Confused

SlimGin · 22/07/2018 23:08

Had a lovely 'you've definitely put weight on your face' other day which left me feeling a bit insecure, my cheeks were already chubby!
And another one that grates on me is people guessing how long I have left, especially as my bump is small so when they say 'ah 20 weeks!' (I'm 31w) I feel like something's wrong!
And maybe most annoying is: 'are you scared?' Especially by people I don't know too well!

spudlet7 · 22/07/2018 23:16

Now I'm getting closer to birth (34 weeks), people seem to find it appropriate to tell me birthing horror stories. Not even their own, just random ones. It's my first child, what are you trying to do to me?! I don't even know what reaction it is they want, I'm just sort of Hmm

polkadotpixie · 22/07/2018 23:26

I've not had too many comments on my bump size but people are just inappropriate in general I think...a couple of weeks back a woman asked me how far gone I was, I replied 28 weeks and her response was "oh, you're not safe yet then...he could still die if he came now" which was...nice and reassuring Hmm

The worst thing was, she was a bloody midwife! Granted, she was extremely drunk but even so....

CarlyJayne1987 · 23/07/2018 00:02

people are rude!!!

I am female, pregnant and wouldnt ever ask someone this!!

My mum is the worst though - she has NO filter. Everytime she sees me "are you fat yet"...no mother. pregnant.

She asked a lady the other week when she was due......yeah she wasnt.

lollilolli · 23/07/2018 07:36

I'm 34 weeks and while i haven't had the twins comment thankfully (yet) I am getting sick to death of the stares and comments! My bump is measuring 4 weeks behind by tape measure although baby fine on scan, I am only petite anyway, and have barely put any weight on. But people seem to have absolutely no concept of bump size! I've been wearing bump hugging outfits all along this summer, so obviously they show the bump off much more. I also have bad spd so been waddling a while now. So this combo together has prompted so many "how many DAYS left for you then?" Comments. When I've said how many weeks, everyone scoffs at disbelief and feels the need to tell me I'm huge and it'll be a big baby. I've started arguing back now with the facts of having to have growth scans because my bump is too small!! Add in the hot weather and I'm really getting sick to death of people's stupidity!
