Hi, I'm 31 weeks pregnant and my friends little boy who is two has chicken pox. I'm not going to be coming into contact with him but I'm due to see her this weekend. I've had chicken pox myself when I was young but is there any risk to my unborn baby? Any advice appreciated. Thank you

If you're sure you've had it then there's no risk.

Hey been in your shoes twice now!

First was with chicken pox in early pregnancy, Was told then that if you had it before then you'll be immune and no risk to baby....
Have just had mil tell me she's got shingles, we're due to go away with them tomorrow, again called and spoke to them and they said the same thing again.

So if you've had it before then i wouldn't worry.
If you are worried though ask them to do a bloody test to determine whether youre immune or not and go from there. X

Thank you both so much. I've also Spoken to a Pharmacist who said I should be fine as long as I've had the Chickenpox before. Also, as I won't be seeing the child that has it, there shouldn't really be any risk x
