Hi Ladies

Just want some “real mom” advice on how others cope...

I’m approx 34/35 weeks pregnant and recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Now trying to manage it with metformin 1000mg twice a day. However both my morning sugar & evening sugar remains high approx 6.5mmol.

I’ve been told to exercise but problem is I’m so unfit. I never used to exercise before pregnancy either. I can only manage a very slow 20 min walk and even that does set off lightening crotch, sciatica & sensation that baby is dropping. Generally I am suffering with lots of aches and pains now. Esp in my glutes

Should I just try and continue my snail pace walk? Esp since my sugar isn’t going down and I do not want to start insulin as well

No advice on the diabetes, but I know how uncomfortable walking can be with sciatica! What about something like this? Can use it sitting down, and for legs or arms.

Otherwise would swimming be an option?

Unfortunately can’t swim and am terrified to try them water aerobics at this stage. Once I did and being only 5ft when the ladies started walking around I felt sucked into the middle and started to panic that I was going to drown lol!

Thanks yes that’s a good idea I’ve seen them before. Will have a try! Anything to get me through these last few weeks
