Cramping and diarrhoea at 6 weeks 😭

Hey ladies,

I am currently 5+6 after having a miscarriage at 7 weeks in early June.

Last night around 11pm I started getting really bad IBS-like cramping followed by bad diarrhoea and more cramping this morning.

I'm really worried I may have food poisoning, but I've been SO careful! 😭 I've seen some women say this can be a form of morning sickness but there's nothing about it in my books. I've had no nausea at all.

I had diarrhoea and cramps during my miscarriage but had already been spotting for a few days before this began so this doesn't seem the same. I've had no spotting this time, but the cramps last night and this morning were unbelievable - way worse than the MC! I can't stop worrying about this having an affect on the baby.

The doctor won't see me because they have no appointments till the second week of August! And I contacted the EPU but they've said unless there is bleeding they won't see me 😭

I feel so worried. Has anyone else had this before and things turned out OK?

I had this at around 5 weeks and baby was fine. Was awful at the time though so I do feel for you. When I went to docs about it they weren't concerned. Cramping can sometimes inficate a uti so do speak to doc if it continues x

Thanks @Emu31. I don't think it's a UTI as I'm having no pee problems - just the other end :( DH has just made me some plain pasta and even that has set me off again. I feel awful 😭

Try not to panic (i know easier said than dine!) i had really bad diarrhoea for around 6 weeks in the first trim it was awful but im currently 39 weeks with a healthy baby girl the cramps could just be just to do with the diarrhoea make sure you drink plenty and try to nibble on whatever you can manage hope everything settles down for you soon

Continued all throughout today so went to the doctors this afternoon. She said she thinks it sounds like food poisoning, and wasn't hugely concerned as long as I wasn't dehydrated. I've been given a little kit to take a sample (gross) if it doesn't clear up by tomorrow for testing.

Cramping is much better today at least, and still no spotting. Just lotsa poops (ew).

Howd you get on op?

Spooples · 21/07/2018 16:07

Thanks @lmx0. I was in A&E till about midnight. They suspected gastroenteritis but couldn't rule out ectopic, so booked me in for an emergency scan this morning.

Not ectopic thankfully (although no foetal pole on scan yet which has me worried). Still having horrible cramping and diarrhoea today. They didn't prescribe anything so still very uncomfortable and can't leave the house 🤢

Thank goodness its not ectopic but ive read many threads from ladies worried about no foetal pole when they've had scans 5/6 weeks and all was well so seems very common so fingers crossed for you and i hope the cramping and diarrhoea ease for you soon

Hi there, I know this is an old thread, is it possible to know how this turned out? Thanks so much
