It depends! Many say they bounced back in the 2nd trimester so just wait it out! Go easy on yourself. And DO NOT COMPARE yourself to the perky bouncy energetic pregnant woman in work!
Also get your thyroid checked ( from personal experience)

I've felt utterly exhausted the entire way through. 33 weeks today.

DLB22 · 19/07/2018 17:25

I was shattered during my first trimester. I could easily go to bed at 7 and sleep a full 12 hours. I also started to nap which I could never do before. 2nd trimester I was back to normal. Now I'm 36 weeks I'm tired again! Don't worry I am sure it will ease up for you.

I was fine first trimester, 2nd I'm so knackered! (Perhaps the heat isn't helping...) not much help to you I just needed a whinge lol! Just goes to show everyone is different though. I hope you feel better soon Smile

I was exhausted during my first trimester four years ago and I'm even more exhausted this time around, at 11 weeks, However I remember the second trimester being much better, I felt great then and am desperately hoping it will happen again this time!

As I understand it, it's normal in the first 12 weeks and the majority of women do bounce back in the second trimester.

I'm fortunate that I'm not working at the moment because there's no way I'd be able to. I'm almost suffering a kind of narcolepsy, passing out rather than falling asleep at least once, sometimes twice a day, and having to avoid driving at certain times due to the danger of it happening at the wheel - and I'm someone who has never been able to nap during the day. It's truly awful and I have made sure my husband knows that there is absolutely no way I will ever be doing this a third time. In fact I'm hoping to get my tubes tied after this pregnancy, that's how awful I feel.

I m 28 weeks and I ve been knackered since 5 weeks, I can't even stand at the sink and do all the dishes for too long before needing to lay down!

BlueBug45 · 22/07/2018 14:22

I was exhausted until about 16 weeks. Then I had lots of energy until 27 weeks.

Poconut · 22/07/2018 16:14

I was really tired in the first trimester and it carried through to the second, I mentioned it to my midwife and she checked my bloods and found my iron count was low, I was prescribed iron tabs and have been feeling miles better ever since! X

Annalogy · 22/07/2018 18:41

I felt exhausted throughout the entirety of my pregnancy, I can't remember ever being awake past 8:30!

I agree with PP: get your iron count tested

Last pregnancy I was exhausted but I had anemia on multiple occasions. The second trimester was great though. I felt like a human again. This time round I’m coming up for 7 weeks and really struggling. It is only the thought of a second trimester reprieve that is keeping me going. I’m currently really tired but can’t sleep because I feel sick. I’ve been waking up lots during the night to wee which seems an unfair trick our bodies play on us when we need more bloody sleep.

15 weeks and shattered! It is a bit better now than in the first 10-12 weeks though, I no longer have to have an early evening nap every day, more like every two or three days!

usernotfound0000 · 23/07/2018 09:23

I started to have lots more energy around 11 weeks. I'm 24 weeks now and with the heat and a huge bump I'm starting to feel tired again, everything takes so much energy to do! In my first pregnancy, I was still feeling full of energy until about 34 weeks.

Mousefunky · 23/07/2018 11:16

It’s supposed to disappear in the second trimester but hasn’t for me. It did for about a week or two between 16 and 17 weeks but it returned. Just feel wiped out.
