Slow/No growth

Having had a miscarriage in March, I went for a scan at 8+2 with this pregnancy. I was told the egg was only 7 week sized and that they couldn't find a heartbeat.
I'm preparing for the worst, but my husband wants to remain positive that it's just too early.
I was just wondering if anyone had ever had similar news and a positive outcome?

At 7 weeks they say it can still be too early to find a heart beat. I had an early scan at 7+3 and they couldn't find the hb. They rescanned me a week later and it was visible.
Are they going to Rescan again?
I wouldn't like to say either way how its going to go.....however as hard as it is try and stay positive. X
