Hey, with the hot weather I have been surviving in wrap dresses and resisted buying anything new. But going on hol next week and bump is starting to show. By the time we are home from hols I will be 18 weeks. I want particularly to pick up some jeans. Where are the best places to actually go to (rather than buy online)? Shops and areas please! I am in South East London so could go to a normal shopping mall - Bromley, Croydon, Westfield etc or a retail place like Purley way where they have a big mamas and papas etc. What do u think is best? Thanks!

For jeans I found H&M to be really good! It's quite nice to be able to try them on and I think all of their stores have a maternity section.

Following with interest as I haven’t come across many shops with maternity wear in store. Online has quite a few options, particularly ASOS.

H&M are very reasonably priced and do lots of nice bits. Also got some bits out of jojo mamam Bebe but not sure if there are any in your area. Bigger branches of Debenhams sometimes had a range but nothing great. Not overly sure about summer wear as I was heavily pregnant in the winter so I only needed minimal clothes from maternity! I believe next do a range as well as new look but I’ve never seen them in store just online.

I've really really struggled with maternity wear and it's given me so many headaches.
Maternity wear is so different in terms of size that you really do need to try stuff on - not easily done when you can only find stuff online.
The shops i found maternity stuff in were:
New look
Mothercare
H&m
Mamas & papas.
Albeit - the range is really small so don't expect much. X

That's great thanks. Sounds like I can just go to a regular shopping mall then and try and find some bits. It's just jeans really... Most of my tops still fit, just!

I went away when I was 29 weeks and I bought mostly dresses in Primark just in a size up! as long as they are stretchy. and New look for jeans or leggings

ASOS... I love their maternity clothes!!!

myotherbagisgucci · 18/07/2018 17:11

Sorry just missed the bit where you said no online shops (sorry) definitely H&M or even Mothercare! Smile

H&M in Bromley has a small maternity section but there’s not much to choose from. I found Westfield Stratford better, or Bluewater as there was a bit more choice - H&M, mothercare etc.

H&M or new look are probably your best bet on the high street if you want to try on. If you can find a big enough gap with a maternity section then I love their maternity jeans. Unfortunately I've had to buy them online this time round as our local store has stopped stocking maternity so not sure how many still do.
