Early pregnancy pains or IBS?

Hey everyone,
I recently got BFP on Sunday just gone. My period is due on the 22nd so I got a positive extremely early.
I've been getting really sharp shooting pains, and i'm not sure if its the pregnancy or if it's ibs. I've stopped taking Mebeverine as I was told it's not worth the risk by a nurse.
By I get cramps, across my stomach. Sharp pains on both my left and right lower back. Sharp pains shooting across just where my uterus would be. And sharp twinges on my left and right lower abdomen (sort of where the bone is but not if that makes sense). I feel pregnant my boobs are killing, I feel sick, gone off certain foods (mainly chocolate :'( which is sad). I am also getting period type pains like my thighs hurting and the stomach cramps I get around my period due time.
I'm so scared, please can anyone tell me if you've felt pain or if this is something to worry about?? is any of this normal?? please someone let me know, be honest because I'd rather know now than later

I think it's really hard to say hun.
You could just be experiencing implantation pains in the abdomen which isn't uncommon, even a touch of bleeding at this stage could be implantation aswell.
Early pregnancy symptoms can often mimmick period symptoms and as it's still early id say that's def whats happening I would also say if you've had your positive test then try and stay positive - although I know that is easier said than done.
Your body is going through a chaotic time, take it easy, ease your pains with paracetemol and a warm bath/hot water bottle and chill.
If you do get any bleeding to accompany the pains then you'll need to go to the epau.
In the early stages we look for symptoms, we worry the life out of ourselves but in reality it just our bodies preparing. Keep us updated hun x

I had severe period pain from 7dpo until about 6 weeks pregnant. I then had awful round ligament pain from about 12-15 weeks as well as bad gas pain from IBS throughout so I understand the worry

If you're not bleeding then it's probably fine, try not to worry too much and congratulations

Thank you guys. I have to keep fighting back the tears because I get so scared when I feel pain but I haven’t had any bleeding whatsoever so I guess that’s a good sign? I’ve had 10+ positives now (I keep testing because I’m scared but I am not going to test anymore as it’s a bit crazy lol) so I guess I should just stay positive. I’m definitely pregnant or at least one of the 6 brands I’ve used would say different!
I guess I just needed to hear from someone who’s had Ibs as no one in my family had tough pregnancies and everyone’s told me to not get my hopes up until I have a scan 😞 so I needed some reassurance

I have ibs and I'm currently 39 weeks pregnant.
I had pains like you are describing early on.
If you know your triggers for the ibs, try avoiding them for a couple of days and see if the pains ease.
Don't forget ibs can be triggered by stress to.
Congrats on you bfp!
Relax

On a plus side... Since being pregnant (from about 12 weeks) my ibs has been loads better! Been having milk and everything!
Started getting the pains again recently and I don't know if it's ibs or labour pains.
The thought of giving birth with ibs is worrying me somewhat but hey-ho not much I can do about it lol

My pain actually eased for the last couple of days it was so calm I got scared I lost the baby. But again no bleeding and still getting bfp
Pains back now! So.. great! Lol
I’ve been trying to avoid eating a lot of crap but it hasn’t helped lol
I hope everything goes well for the rest of your pregnancy xx

I have IBS and am 8 weeks preg. I've had horrible pain, IBS type, bloated, pains- I'm not eating my normal food as I'm totally turned off it so I think that is setting my IBS off. I went to pharmacy and they said it was ok to take fybogel which I have found really helpful

Confusedg1rl · 21/07/2018 15:05

Oh ok I’ll have a look into that and see 😊 thank you
