Elective c section concerns?

Hi,

I have had some complications during my pregnancy. I have gestational diabetes, which is diet controlled and have had a previous section at 39 weeks as my little boy was breech.

This little one is also breech and I have also been back and forth on four occasions to the antenatal unit because of reduced movements, the last resulting in me staying in hospital overnight to be monitored.

I am now stuck with the decision of whether or not to wait until 39 weeks to have my c section, which is obviously safest as there is a higher chance of respiratory complications any earlier or having it slightly earlier due to the concerns over her movements.

Just wondering if anyone else has been in the same situation and what you decided to do.

Thanks x

Have the CTG checks showed all is well or do they have concerns? I'm also booked in for a c-section at 39 weeks and my little one is breech at the moment. I'm 36 weeks just now

If you have had multiple episodes of reduced movements, the hospital should do a scan to check placental blood flow and fetal wellbeing. However even if that is all good, if movements are reduced it is a sign that baby needs delivery.

How many weeks are you now?

I'm 36 weeks on Friday. All CTG'S and scans are good, but there are obviously still concerns and if I was able to be induced, they wouldn't let me go over 38 weeks. It's only because of the c section that they need to wait x
