Has your colleague had chicken pox? I would imagine you are only at risk if your colleague develops it. Or you have been in contact with the child.

yes he has had it and is showing no symtoms, it's really bad because I was really dramatic when he came in and told me - he doesn't know I'm preg so he is probably thinking I am crazy

Only at risk if you have come into contact with the child whilst she has it, or for a couple of days prior to her spots coming out.

Check if your colleague has had it. If not then you need to stay away from him/her. They would be at risk of getting it and would be contagious about 10 from the time the child came out with it.

If he has had it then you are fine. You can't carry chicken pox.

you're quite possibly immune anyway. I've never had it, was in contact when pregnant, they tested and I had antibodies anyway.

Agree though unless you come into contact with an actual person about to go down with chickenpox or with chickenpox themselves then you're not going to get it anyway,
