Folic acid/pregnancy tablets

WWYD?

I've been taking the pre pregnancy folic acid tablets and have half a packet left. I'm only 4-5 weeks pregnant- should I keep taking them to finish off or should I move onto pregnancy type tablets now?

Definitely check the amount of folic acid in them and make sure it's the recommended pregnancy amount, personally I would move on to the pregnancy vitamins xx

I'd stay on the conception ones. Pretty sure all conception ones have the same amount of folic acid as the pregnancy ones, so if that's the case there's no real reason not to finish the pack.

Check the label but most likely you'll be getting the critical bits. In terms of evidence and impact on your baby, the important bits are folic acid and iodine (often vitamin d, but maybe less in this weather unless you are spending very little time outdoors / wear veils or other body covering clothing etc). Iron if you're deficient but less likely early on - and the rest matters but only if you're eating a very limited diet or have other medical issues.

Mine said to finish the packet and then move on. Once I was pregnant I just took folic acid and vit d though, I then dropped the folic acid after 14 weeks - I didn't buy a combined pregnancy one at all.

Id finish the packet.

It should say on the packet to continue taking those until you run out then move on. The pregnacare do. If you aren't sure ask a pharmacist x
