Hi everyone.
We've just found out we are pregnant on our first try & first baby 🤰🏻😍
Just wondered if anyone has any advise or tips for the first trimester ?
Good or bad 🙈 don't scare me too much 😄
Beyond excited, would love to know what I am in for 🙈 x

If you are tired sleep.

If you live in London and SE get a baby on board badge from TFL.

If you exercise continue but go into maintenance mode.

And congrats and good luck.

Every pregnancy is different, see how you go.

I found the first trimester the hardest bir so far (37 weeks now) but you may not.

If you feel crap/are struggling with pregnancy in anyway then get support... Midwives are the absolute best and very sympathetic. Also MN has helped me get through :-) a safe place to whinge!!

Most of mumsnet chat seems to be people at their worst / crisis so take it with a pinch of salt Smile

Try to politely stop folk wanting to offload their horror birth stories. Whilst a balanced decision is import, it's no good approaching pregnancy or birth fearing the worstSmile

Not a lot is going to scare me. I'm a tough cookie 😊 I'm 1 of 4 & my sister has 2 little ones so had a lot of horror stories already 🙈

Any tips for easing the nausea & metallic taste ? 🤢
& my boobs 😳😩 🍉 🍉

Take it easy
Have naps if you need to
Don’t worry if you can’t eat anything except crisps it will (hopefully) pass!

Congratulations :) I found in the first trimester I was feeling sick from weeks 10 -13 and then it passed, you will also feel tired a lot for the first trimester so make sure u rest but also keep active, I regularly played badminton and went on walks, I’m 23 weeks now and still do the walking but not the badminton as too tiring now esp in this heat. Try not to listen to anyone’s horror stories as everyone is different, I’m currently going thru the phase of people trying to touch my tummy which is doing my head in haha I also felt a bit up and down in the first trimester mood wise but don’t worry about this it’s normal and just down to your hormones and body getting ready for the baby :) I also recommend you use the bounty app and Ovia app on ur phone, they give you advice and tips each week and U can also get good offers on baby products :) I just ordered a bedside crib for nearly half the price Smile

Expect to be really tired for the next few weeks, it does get better though.

Nausea - eat little and often as it tends to get worse if you get hungry. Sometimes it becomes necessary to eat a couple of crackers before you get out of bed.

LaurenH0893 · 16/07/2018 21:26

I had a 2 hour nap after a bbq yesterday. Was bliss 😍😴
I have a horse so I will have to keep active throughout, but not going to push myself.
I am a very happy go lucky person & never normally hormonal so god help my partner 🙈
I'll download a few apps & see how they go.
I used the Flo app to track my AF & symptoms.
I have to take my water bottle filled with squash everywhere with me to help with my nausea & chewing gum for the nasty taste so far 🤢
Crackers 😂 I'll keep that in mind x

Congratulations!

Try step away from Google, really easy to get carried away and convince yourself of crazy things 😊

Ignore all the horror stories - this is your story, have an open mind and just enjoy everything as much as you can!

Everyone will have an opinion on 'you're huge' or 'too small' - just listen to your midwife.

Really made up for you, wishing you all the best xxx

LaurenH0893 · 16/07/2018 21:32

@Yakadee aww thank you, lovely message 😘

It's still very early but hard keeping it to ourselves when we are so excited.
So it's nice to be able to share with you all and hear your stories & advise ☺️ xx
