Morning sickness easing at 10 weeks - normal?

Hi all,

I know this must have been asked many times but please humour me Smile.

I've been feeling really rotten since 5-6 weeks. I had a scan last Thursday at 10+1 and all was well. Nice heartbeat and a wriggly baby which was a massive relief after a mc at 7 weeks in April.

I seem to be feeling loads better this week. Still have aching boobs when I get up in the morning and feel a bit yucky when I haven't eaten for a while but nowhere near as bad as I felt for the last few weeks. Haven't been sick for about 5 days now.

I'm a bit anxious that it's a bad sign and it's too early to start feeling better. I thought placenta took over at about 12 weeks? Or is it normal to start feeling better around now? I have to admit, it is amazing feeling better but should I be worried at all?

Thanks Smile

I felt better for about a week at 10 weeks. Week 11 the sickness came back with a vengeance and I am still throwing up regularly at 16+3.
I think hormone levels peak and then start to subside between 10-13 weeks ish, so it’s perfectly reasonable that sickness could subside at 10 weeks.

Yes happened to me and then had the odd bout of feeling ill for a few weeks after that. All was fine.

I felt better at 9 weeks!

Exactly as above, started feeling much better last week (10 weeks) and then WHAM, yesterday was vomit central!

Thanks so much for the reassurance. I'm glad to hear it's not uncommon to start to feel better around now. It's been awful - must enjoy it in case it rears it's ugly head again! Poor you @SoyDora I hope you feel better soon.

@Wellthisunexpected Urgh... it's just rotten isn't it. Not the weather for it either.

Well after that worry I've now been really sick again - that didn't take long. Hopefully I'll just have more good days than bad from now on!

I felt better at 10 weeks then it came back with a vengeance at 11.5 weeks. Hung around until 21 weeks. Just use this time to eat and drink in a normal way and recoup! Xx
