Preeclampsia?

I've been away for the weekend and have done a bit of walking and obviously weather has been hot however my feet have ballooned, this is my third pregnancy. It's never happened to me either when or when not pregnant and stupidly I googled it and am now panicking whereas before I just assumed it was the walking (only around a theme park with the kids)

I've attached a picture of my now trotter looking feet - should I be worried?

Preeclampsia?

How many weeks are you?
Do you have any other symptoms?

ReggaetonLente · 16/07/2018 20:03

Mine are like that. Probably worse. I’m tall and have bad circulation anyway though.

Always call the midwife if you’re worried but I will say that the one lady I knew who had pre eclampsia was literally unrecognisable from her swelling. Her face, neck, and hands as well as feet.

Have you got any of the other symptoms of PE? Nausea, dizziness, changes in vision, headache, pressure in chest?

Hello!

I've never had preeclampsia but didn't want to read and run..

Do you have any other symptoms?
I've googled alot myself lately as had headaches, strange vision and high BP so was worried about the same condition.

In the end I rang my midwife for advise - could you do the same?

With this weather it's so hard to judge whats "normal" and whats not. Try ice packs your ankles to reduce the swelling, and keep them elevated!
Hopefully they will go down and it will have just been a combination of heat/walking and nothing else xx

I've just had DC2 and my feet were like that for the last couple of weeks. He was born last weekend and they're only just back to normal. Mostly down to the heat I think.

With DC1 I did have preeclampsia though. She was born in the winter so I wasn't swollen because of the heat that time! My feet were ginormous, as were my legs and hands. I had an awful headache and a horrendous pain in my shoulder. Every bit of me ached like it does when you've got a cold, if that makes sense.

It probably is the weather/walking, but if you develop any other symptoms, get checked out ASAP! Wouldn't wish preeclampsia on anybody, it's horrible and scary.

Ok I feel a little better, I have no other symptoms so I'm going to hope
It's just the walking! Got some frozen goods on them now so will keep an eye. Thank you for reassuring me!!

Keep your feet iced and elevated and keep an eye on it. If it's pre eclampsia the swelling won't go down and I would phone triage or midwife for advice. Also keep an eye out for hands and face swelling, headaches, visual disturbances, epigasgric pain etc. First time I had PE it was the swelling that was my most obvious symptom.
