Please tell me im not expected to call in the guinness world record books for the birth I’m a FTM

Long story- have had really shitty midwife care since i moved home and ultimatley away from my midwife that i had at the start of my pregnancy. Im classed high risk due to bmi also my dad had a heart attack aged 36 due to blood pressure and my blood pressure runs the same course as my dads does so i was supposed to be under consultant led care. Ive never met a consultant my whole pregnancy even after bringing it up with my new midwife. We have recently just moved back to the original area so i have my original midwife back (yay) shes not happy with the care ive received. Ive seen a MW twice since i left nice midwife at 10 weeks. So the first thing she has done is refered me to see a consultant. The next thing she asked was how the midwifes felt my growth was coming. Cue confused face from me as no one had measured my bump. Nice midwife gets out her measuring tape and my wee bean is measuring 6 WEEKS ahead šŸ™ˆ midwife is a bit concerned as my GTT was only two weeks ago and I passed with flying colours (4.5 fasting and 4.8 two hour)

Has anyone been in the same situation and can give me some reassurance- I go for a scan on Wednesday but I’m so worried he’s going to be huge. I’ve been advised if he is on the larger side then I may not be able to deliver him myself. I’m quite short 5’1 so I’m unsure if this adds to the difficulty’s

Also nice midwife is going to speak to her team leader about my lack of care over the last 20 odd weeks. Especially since I am consultant led and never actually met a consultant.

Sorry you've had sh*t care šŸ™„
Honestly don't panic until you have the growth scan. Sometimes the fundal measurement can be very misleading. Especially for me as I'm overweight I always measure ahead.
If you are going to have a big baby they will induce you when it's safe to, I believe. Atleast you can be thankful for a consultant now! Smile

Before I was pregnant, I carried my extra weight around my middle (bmi of 30) and I've measured 1-2cm over each of the 4 times I've been measured. My midwife is happy that it's my body shape and not necessarily a huge baby. Lots of other factors affect the measurement. If your bmi is significantly high, I would hazard a guess that your situation might be similar.

Try not to worry too much (at least you get a smashing certificate if you're in the Guinness WR Wink) Best of luck!

I always measured weeks ahead and yes, I had large babies.
