Hi

I'm 37+4 first time pregnancy and I'm filled with anxieties. I know that is perfectly normal but lately I've been more worried about developing postnatal depression.

I'm basically here looking for advice and if there's anything I can do to prevent becoming depressed?

Depression and anxiety run in my family and so I worry I'm predisposed to developing it.

Is it anything particular that's giving you bad anxiety?

I'm not sure there's much you can do to prevent getting it, but you can arm your friends and family with what to look out for, who to contact and how to help. And explain that they need to look out for signs not just days and weeks after birth, but months.

I had PND and afterwards, friends and family said they could see something was wrong but didn't know how to help.
