UTI trouble..question..

Today I'm 37 wks and I had a very dizzy spell where I had to lie down and my arms weighed a tonne. Couldn't catch my breath and felt all over exhaustion. My 4 year old ran to the kitchen and made me a cup of water (so sweet) he could see I was panicking a bit and got my phone.
Anyway, I lay there for a bit until my OH came back and helped me up I told him something was off and I didn't feel right (I had this off feeling all day). He made me ring 111..

The women on the phone wanted me to go to A&E initially, then referred me to someone who was medically trained to ring me back. She did and gave me an urgent care appointment despite me feeling considerably better.
Went and he dipped my urine, which I only took so he could check I didn't have Preeclampsia, he said you have an infection..a rather explosive one. (whatever that means!) Confused he also puts this as the cause of my raised blood pressure and strange dizzy episode.. surely it's a coincidence though? I've had UTIs before and this feels different... Sent me on my way with an antibiotic prescription.. anyone else been this wiped out from a Urine infection??

Yep I got a UTI when they had to put a catheter in after I had my baby. Went undiagnosed for weeks too (after a feeling days I told them I felt like I was getting a UTI and they said oh no it’s just discomfort from the catheter - I didn’t know at that point how EXTREMELY EASY it is to check, or that catheters are the leading cause of UTIs Angry).

Anyway, point is it was very like how you describe - by the time I went back to the labour ward (having been VERY begrudgingly told I could come in) my temperature was around 39.5 and I couldn’t even sit up straight, never mind standing. Took 3 different antibiotics to shift the bugger too - I eventually realised I’d get much better care from my GP than from the hospital otherwise I’d probably still have it!

Yes I’m on bladder / kidney infection 74 at the moment and I’m so wiped I can bearly move huge sympathy’s as they are so debilitating and making nausea and morning sickness 10 times worse Flowers
