32 weeks and no sign of exchange date yet.....

Our offer was accepted at 12 weeks. Our vendor isn't in a chain, our buyers though are selling to an academic institution and there is a delay because of an issue in their lease.

First target exchange dates were 8 weeks ago. Now, we are frantically exploring a plan B where we can still buy without having sold ours - but it'll take every penny we (and my parents) have in the short term.

First baby due in 8 weeks. Been living surrounded by half-packed boxes for over 2 months now, and our flat is v warm so in this heatwave I've had a few meltdowns! The nesting instinct is so strong but I feel like we're in a horrible limbo....argh!

Tell me it'll all be okay!....

I don't know if it'll be ok but if it makes you feel any better I'm 34 weeks, we still don't have a moving date and I'm probably going to be induced at 37 weeks Shock

We're hoping we will move on the 25th when I'll be bang on 36 weeks but we shall see what the solicitor says today!

FedUpEffedOff · 16/07/2018 12:30

Oh best of luck - fingers crossed for good news from your solicitor?.... We're hoping for the same this week. The waiting around is unbearable.

I'm due next week and we are exchanging on Friday. No nesting done. Everything in boxes. It's the most stressful time but I'm trying to let DH deal with the move logistics and solicitors etc and focus on the baby and resting up.

Wellthisunexpected · 16/07/2018 13:45

It will be ok. I know loads of people who have moved and gone in to labour later that day. It turned out fine. Especially if you have family to help.

We decided to renovate our house, started the week before my bfp. Finished 4 days before my due date. DS was born 2 weeks early!

TheCag · 16/07/2018 14:10

No useful advice op, but I have moved twice at 8 months pregnant so I do understand your pain! Hope exchange comes soon for you.

FedUpEffedOff · 16/07/2018 14:31

thank you all - it's nice to hear from others who are or have been in the same boat. It's so disappointing because I had visions of wafting about serenely in the latter part of my first (and probably only) pregnancy! Reference pp, I only hope I don't go into labour on the same day as moving!!

Our solicitor said 25th is unlikely. Our vendors still haven't managed to answer the list of queries they've had for 3 weeks now Angry

I'm trying to remain relatively zen about it all because there isn't a great deal we can do but it is disappointing. Slowly reconciling myself with the fact that we'll probably be moving with a newborn. (I think I'll just go hang out at a friend's house for the day and leave DH to it with the movers!)

keeponrunning85 · 21/07/2018 14:03

Any progress fedup?

We've got a completion date of the 31st finally. I've then got a growth scan and decision about induction on the 1st. Baby had managed a bit of a growth spurt the past 2 weeks so fingers crossed that continues and I won't need inducing after all.

FedUpEffedOff · 21/07/2018 23:10

Hey keepon- no progress. Our buyers are apparently providing additional paperwork to their mortgage lender about a monetary gift from family to allow them to proceed with buying ours as they are having problems with their sale. But knowing whether their lender will accept that will still take another week at least, I'm guessing. So another week gone and no further forward. Our vendor is a sweet older man who is moving to the coast to be with family and isn't in a chain - and he's being really patient but keeps reminding us that he's "ready to move". I wanna scream "Us too! We've been packed up since end of May!"

33 weeks tomorrow and plan to pack my hospital bag to keep myself busy this week. I did a bit of a stock take to see what bits I had this week as everything is in bags and boxes. Got final NCT class tomorrow (6.5 hours in a boiling classroom) and DH and I had quite a few arguments and bickers today. Heat and tiredness really getting to us both now.

And had GP check up this week and baby still not head down - although she wasn't entirely sure what position it was in.

Oh gosh, poor you. I know kind of how you feel. At 27 weeks pregnant we moved from London to Australia. Due to various delays there was still no sign of our shipping container at 37 weeks (with our cot, other baby furniture, OUR BLOODY BED. I was sleeping in a mattress on the floor!). It turned up when I was 37+6 in the end and my waters went at 38+4 😂 I really hope they can pull their fingers out and get a move on. Our flat purchase years ago was nothing nothing nothing then within 2 days everything was done and dusted and we had the keys. Fingers crossed you're into your beautiful new home soon.

FedUpEffedOff · 22/07/2018 08:24

My God, how did you manage on a mattress on the floor! Getting up for the toilet run must've been quite a performance!! Grin I finish work in two weeks so at the moment I'm focusing on that milestone. Small steps....

33 weeks here - I thought buying a house and getting married a week apart last year was stressful!! But I think moving when pregnant is waaay worse.

How's everyone coping in this heat?

FedUpEffedOff · 22/07/2018 09:27

Living on ice lollies. I go to Sainos and buy all the R Whites lemonade lollies they have. Woe betide anyone gets in the way!

We agreed house when I was approx 33 weeks pregnant... My ds was born at 37 weeks. He will be 20 weeks tomorrow.. Our completion date has finally been confirmed for this Friday!!

keeponrunning85 · 26/07/2018 14:02

We've exchanged contracts! Moving on Tuesday. I'm so relieved!

That sounds like a long slog Smurf. By the time we move on Tuesday it'll be 10 weeks since our offer was accepted so I can't really complain. It was our own fault for giving ourselves such a tight schedule.

FedUpEffedOff · 10/08/2018 16:14

Finally exchanged today - complete next Friday. We made the offer when I was 12 weeks pg, when we move I will be 36+5

It's felt like a race against time. I cannot believe how inefficient and useless our housing selling/buying system in this country is. Our chain is only 3 properties long and it's still taken >4.5 months. Grrrr.....

Anyway Wine(small glass of fizz permitted!)
