Hi all,

I'm Deborah - new here after finding out yesterday that I'm expecting a baby with my completely wonderful fiancé! We are SO excited - we're financially secure and feel super ready for it. But I'm feeling a little overwhelmed as we coincidentally went on holiday this morning, to Naples... And I just had a little freakout in our hotel room, just feeling homesick because I think it's all a bit overhwelming at much! Anyway I'm sure a good night's sleep will help.

But I already have the OHMYGODIHAVETOSUCCESSFULLYGROWABABY worries... Any top tips for surviving the worry that I'm going to do something wrong and hurt my little peanut? (our nickname for he/she) I mean I know all the things I can't eat, medications to avoid etc., But I'm just terrified I'll trip over or something and cause the baby harm.

Help!!! I don't have a mum around and it's too early to tell my friends... My OH is so wonderful but I'd really love some reassurance from women who have already been there...

THANK YOU 💕
Dx

Love peanut, we call ours sesame :)

Remember that little peanut is soooo tiny right now. They’re really well protected and still down in your pelvis :)

Look after yourself. Plenty of rest will do you both the world of good :)

Congratulations!

Hi lovely I'm 13 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child, I also had a miscarriage between 1 and 2.
First of all relax, you're fine on holiday so enjoy yourself, midwives won't see you until you are about 10 weeks along for your booking appointment so you don't need to rush home for any reason.
You won't hurt your baby by knocking your belly or anything like that, baby is right down in your pelvis and well protected so don't worry.
The next couple of weeks are just a bit of an annoying wait and see time, you have to sit back, look after yourself and see what happens. When I had a pregnancy that didn't work out I knew all along in my gut something was wrong, but symptoms come and go and some people get certain things worse than others so if you are or are not sat with your head over a toilet it means nothing, every pregnancy is different!
Oh yeah and CONGRATULATIONS! Mummyhood is the best job in the world! Enjoy your holiday 😘😘

Congratulations exciting times! It's really difficult to hurt your baby they are buried very deep, I'm preggers with no 2 and have been kicked, jumped on by my toddler (not intentionally just toddlers doing their toddler type stuff) then there's the "horsey" rides and piggy backs stil all is well, easier said then done but relax and try and enjoy pregnancy really, get some comfy bras is the best tip I have Grin! Oh and if you get tired and are able, sleep x

Enjoy your lovely holiday! Don’t worry too much about little peanut - it’s tucked up all safe and cosy inside.
If you aren’t all ready taking folic acid and vitamin d - begin taking those as soon as you get home! It is essential for baby.
While on holiday take extra care with sun cream as you burn a lot easier in pregnancy- even in the early stages.
Drink lots of water and keep hydrated.
Watch your caffeine intake and no no foods.
Otherwise you will be absolutely fine til you get home... congratulations on your pregnancy OP!

I'm sat here wide awake at 3am, worrying - and your kind messages are like a little ray of light! Thank you so much for your reassurances. It makes a huge difference to me :) It's just such a huge responsibility, growing this baby! Even though I know at 4 weeks it's tiny and really a cluster of cells, i

I already love my little peanut.

Anyway thanks again - you are wonderful women and I really appreciate it x
