Miserable second trimester

Hey all,

Just wanted to find out if I’m the only one feeling the way I do. I’m 17 weeks and all I keep hearing is how pregnancy is supposed to be easier and more enjoyable now, but that’s not the case for me!

Yes my morning sickness has subsided, but I just feel so angry and agitated all the time. I feel like 90% of my day I need the toilet it’s like my bladder is constantly full. I feel so tired all the time which makes me so grumpy and miserable at work. I just feel constantly tired, irritated, needing the loo and hot and bothered.

It doesn’t help that I’m also trying to go cold turkey with smoking so right now I’m just a big, hormonal mess. Please are any other mums to be feeling this way??

20 wks and definitely feeling the heat/loo breaks! All I've done is hide indoors for the last three weeks and get annoyed with people who enjoy warm weather. Giving up smoking must be hard, well done. Smile You're definitely not alone!

Well done for quitting smoking Smile.

I’m 24 weeks and completely agree. The heat is making all of the very normal second trimester symptoms absolutely unbearable. I just feel so irritated constantly and everything aches. The worst part is, I know it’s going to get worse 😪

Thank you for your replies, so glad I’m not on my own! I definitely think it’s the heat but I really am struggling. It’s worse when everybody constantly tells you you’re supposed to feel something other than you are feeling. But everybody is different :)

The heat is definitely not helping. I tried to go swimming yesterday as I was melting only to be told (after waiting behind a large group who went through) that the pool was now full Angry

23 weeks here and over being pregnant! Physically I feel fine, no aches or pains and excessive tiredness has gone but I feel huge, all my clothes are too tight making me feel like I'm being bandaged, the heat is too much, I can't walk very far without getting out of breath and everyone around me is enjoying the sun and endless BBQs and beer and I just want to go stay inside in the shade!

16 weeks and still vomiting a couple of times a day. Certainly not glowing!

Absolutely drove me mad when people kept saying how 'golden' the 2nd trimester is.

I hated pregnancy in the first trimester, I hated pregnancy in the 2nd trimester and I hate pregnancy now in the 3rd trimester.

It's flipping exhausting, hormonal, nauseating, achey, being stretched from the inside out, sleeping is a nightmare (my biggest whinge at the moment!! Grin) etc etc etc.

When I was 23 weeks I sat in the hospital waiting room and cried my eyes out, I didn't know how I'd survive the rest of the pregnancy. I cried at everything. Now it is much easier at 37 weeks. Be kind to yourself, making a human is exhausting.
