Anyone else overdue??

Just wondered if there is anyone else out there also overdue and as fed up as me? I'm 40+6 (first baby) and totally done with being pregnant now! Starting to honestly believe I am never going to have this baby Sad

Anyone got any positive stories of going overdue but eventually going into labour spontaneously?

With my first I was exactly the same! I really though I might actually be pregnant forever, even though it was obviously illogical. I had my induction booked at 42 weeks and was totally resigned to it, so much so that I did not recognise the clear signs of labour at 41+12. I was up all night every 20 mins with intense back pain, stomping round the house angry and frustrated at still being pregnant, and all the following day too. I was so convinced I would be induced that it took until the evening when my dh came back from work and the pains were coming every 8 mins or so that he pointed out that maybe it had started. Dd was born 12 hours later. Hope it happens soon for you, congratulations on your baby by the way, it will be an adventure and a challenge but totally worth it in the end.

I’m with you, currently 40+4 and waiting for baby to arrive. With the weather being particularly warm I am desperate for baby to arrive soon!

With DD who was also my first baby I was overdue. I had 2 (very painful unsuccessful attempted sweeps) I was booked in for an induction at +10 despite me saying I didn't want one, so I didn't go. (I became known as "that lady who didn't turn up for her induction" nice) at +12 I had an appointment to see consultant to discuss a plan. I had a scan to check the placenta and everything was ok. They agreed for me to have another sweep at +15 and if nowt happened to go for induction at +17. Again they couldn't do the sweep which was really demoralising so I had resigned myself to induction. Woke up at 2 in the morning at +17 and had gone into labour naturally. DD was born by emcs (a whole other story) at 11pm!

So don't give up hope. Don't be bullied into anything you don't want to but also know when to call it a day.

I was 40+6 with my first when my waters went at 4am, i ate peri peri chicken the night before and swear it was that but it probably wasn't. I was 40+4 with my second and went into labour but without waters going. Third was planned csection. It will happen soon, just relax and enjoy your last few days that's usually when they decide to appear when you no longer worry. Good luck!

I'm overdue too - 40+3 with DC2. Had my first sweep today so hoping it will no some magic, not overly optimistic though as 2 sweeps with DC1 did diddly squat and had to be induced 😬

Due date was Wednesday gone, yup fed up pretty convinced baby will be born with a beard and a diploma in hand at this rate!

Willowtree31 · 16/07/2018 07:16

I was induced at 41+6 for my first! I feel your pain. I tried literally everything and nothing worked for me. I had 4 sweeps, my waters broken and the hormone drip but Baby still wasn't ready to come out! Eventually, I had the hormone drip started again, an epidural and forceps- but my labour experience wasn't as bad as it sounds, I promise!

As hard as it is, be patient and your baby will come when ready! I'm pregnant with my 2nd and I know it's easy to say this now but I'm going to hold off on being induced this time if I get that far and let Baby come when he/she is ready!
