Movements

I’m 26 weeks today. The last couple of days he’s been really active in there. I can see him moving around underneath my clothes and everything.
Today, he’s been a bit quieter but I have felt him. I felt him this morning when in bed in the early hours, I felt and saw some movements before getting up, but again just not as many as the last few days. I’ve had a few pokes and wriggles this morning while doing my Saturday jobs, but again not as strong af they have been.
Now I’ve just had lunch and an ice lolly, laying back on the sofa, I normally see my tummy move. I had to poke him and I saw a movement briefly. But since then nothing. Does it sound like he’s having a quiet day? I’d feel silly calling up because I have felt him today.

Hmm, not sure. There's no harm in ringing L&D and asking? Usually they aren't worried about quiet days this early on. But if you're worried just call them. They won't mind x

@Hjkillas Thanks, I’m going to give it an hour or so more. Lay down and relax and see if I can feel anything. He seems to have active days followed by quieter days, that seems to be his general pattern. So maybe worrying unnecessarily but I wish he didn’t quieter days! It just gets me really anxious.

Please call your maternity triage/advice line. Reduced movements should be checked out and they should keep a note of them happening

I think it's from 28 days they talk about monitoring movements, but not totally sure about that. If you're concerned then just call your midwife. Better safe than sorry, and that's what they're there for. If they're not concerned at this stage then it'll be a two minute phone call and no harm done, if it is a concern then they can get it dealt with sooner.

I know how you feel OP, I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and I start prodding my belly if baby hasn't been doing much. It's natural to worry and midwives know that better than most. Just give them a ring and put your mind at rest Flowers

I just called them, she asked if I’ve felt him move today, I said yes.
She said they don’t worry about reduced movements until after 28 weeks. However if I’d felt no movements at all today, they’d have me in to check. She said if I don’t feel anything tonight or tomorrow morning to call back 🤷‍♀️

Then just keep an eye on it. Sometimes I think we don't pay a lot of attention to it so just lie down for ages and just see what you feel. That's what I would do. Hopefully baby starts wriggling about again by morning x

Thanks, he seems to have an active day or two then a quiet day, I think this is normal for him but don’t know if it’s normal in general.
