Which obviously means I am week of wages down surely if this is correct they could of let me know and I would of finished the Saturday 😬

If you are paid in arrears they pay the wages and start paying the maternity pay the week after otherwise you can take legal action against them for unlawful deduction of wages. The only issue is this could muck up your maternity pay if you are paid by the day/hour. Either way they need to pay you for the day you worked.

I would phone either maternity action - www.maternityaction.org.uk/ or ACAS to work out how to solve this.

I could well be wrong but surely you are paid a week in arrears anyway?so you would get a pay of normal wages first week of maternity leave then the 2nd week your maternity pay would start....?

Oh I forgot to say SMP is paid from Sunday to Saturday - www.gov.uk/maternity-pay-leave/pay

My last shift was the 1 st of July and I’m due to be paid what I thought would have my first lot of maternity tuesday coming which is the 17th I get paid weekly, but obviously now I won’t be getting any maternity just one day of wages.
