My skin is sooo bad around my chin area, just got spots breaking out as soon as others go away!

Can anyone relate and has anyone found a solution to keeping them away?

Thanks in advance xx

The only thing that has helped mine is washing with water and flannel, and the applying sudocream every night before bed.
Tried loads of different things, but this is the only thing that keeps them under reasonable control!

How far on are you? I had awful spots in the first few weeks but I'm now 14 weeks and although there's a small one still, they seem to be clearing up now, guess it's the hormones settling down.

No advice for how to clear it though as I'd be worried about using anything medicated.

Thanks everyone. @Loops1987 9 weeks now so I'm guessing it's the peak of hormones, reallyhoping it settles down soon as so sore xx

I'm sorry to say that I've had terrible spots from around week 8 (now 22 weeks). I've always struggled with acne though and it really gets me down sometimes. I had to stop using the medication I was on to treat spots when I found out I was pregnant and then when I was around 15 weeks and it wasn't any better I went back to the gp who prescribed a topical solution safe for use in pregnancy. My spots are worse around my chin as well. I've noticed a slight improvement recently but I'm not sure if this is down to the prescription or if I'm getting past the worst stage of it anyway. Good luck and I'll be following this post for any useful suggestions!!

@hayley013 mine were awful at exactly 9 weeks and then my skin got much better at around 10+3! Now 11+2 x

I had awful skin throughout the first trimester but it cleared up and is amazing now! Hold in there, hopefully it improves for you in a few weeks.

In my first pregnancy my acne was horrendous week 6 to 26 then it cleared up almost overnight. Hormones are such weird things! This time round I have a few spots on my chin but nothing like last time (although nausea this time is 100 x worse so swings and roundabouts!) I agree that Sudocrem is the way to go and have also been using La Roche Posay Effaclar face wash which seems to clear them up quickly. Fingers crossed they get better for you soon.

The ordinary products are amazing OP x

Body shop seaweed exfoliator. This has always helped with my acne. Use 2-3 times a week, I started to see a difference after a week of using.

hayley013 · 17/07/2018 13:10

@Kt2108 I have a lot of the ordinary products, but unsure what I can use 🤔

@Merrydoula thankyou, I'll defo try that it sounds nice xx

First time poster but long time lurker here. I’m 33 weeks pregnant now and have had hormonal breakouts on my chin throughout pregnancy (previously really clear skin). Only discovered this by about 30 weeks on advice of someone else as I’d asked the same question in a pregnancy group on FB but this routine has totally cleared it up!...

EXFOLIATE/PREP:

  • Lush dark angels face and body scrub or Ocean Salt face and body scrub
CLEANSE:
  • Kiel’s facial cleanser or Mama mio cleanser
TONE:
  • Clinique clarifying toner 3
  • Lush grease lightening, spot treatment (this is AMAZING)
MOISTURISE:
  • Cetaphils moisturising cream or mama mio moisturiser

I have found the grease lightening gel from lush to be the most effective at zapping spots before they fully appear!
