Not really sure what to say but I have 3 children that were taking into care in 09 I was young and dumb and with the wrong person I still see my boys and social worker said she has no worries about my ability with them but now am pregnant again and they want to do a pre birth assessment am happily engaged to a great and changed my whole life around in the 9 years so why do they want to do an assessment instead of being happy and excited we are stressed and worried

I guess this is protocol for them and they're just covering their own backs

I would imagine it's standard. Although you know you've turned your life around, if you've had children taken away previously they will want to check for themselves to make sure everything is OK and see if you need extra support for the new arrival. Just be honest with them and if things really have changed as you say, they will be able to see that.

They have to do an assessment, it’s their job. Imagine the consequences if they didn’t.

If all is ok then you will be fine, try not to worry.

They have proof that things have changed I've had counselling and done childcare level 2 at college been to every single meeting with them about my kids and they've never raised any concerns about anything I've jumped every hoop they have asked contact with my middle child is with the foster carer only what's worrying is that this is his 1st child so it's stressing him out its like nothing is good enough
