Hey ladies. Just looking for some support really! I'm 11+1 and haven't been so scared of miscarriage until nowSad I don't know why I feel this way! I had a scan at 4,6 and 9 weeks due to pain and saw heartbeat on both the 6 and 9 week scans. I go abroad next Wednesday and have my "12" week scan the following Thursday even though I'll be 13+2. Is anyone else feeling this way or just me lol? X

The first trimester is so hard! Worst part of the whole thing imo (coming from approaching 40 weeks in this heatwave that must mean something!)

If you've seen a heartbeat already and you have no other reasons to suspect miscarriage (bleeding or pain?) the chance of something having gone wrong since your last scan is very small.

A lot of women do get bad news at 12 week scans but that is because for most women it's the first scan they have, not because around 12 weeks is a particularly risky point.

I assume you're taking normal precautions around diet and lifestyle? If so, then you're doing everything you can. It's ok to feel anxious about something that you can't control. Try to accept that that's how you feel, it's for good reason but don't let it start to dominate everything.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I hope things get easier.

In all honesty I don't think anyone has ever gone to a scan not expecting the worst.

@Mollywobbles82 Thank you so much for your lovely reply. It's so reassuring. I am taking precautions re diet and lifestyle even if it's proving difficult not wanting to eat ANYTHING! But you're right, there's nothing I can do so will just think positive!Smile

The first trimester is such a scary time and feels so long.. it's so normal to be anxious but if it makes you feel any better, seeing a heartbeat at 9 weeks means about a 99% chance of a successful pregnancy (i remember the stat from when I saw my baby's heartbeat at 9 weeks, after 2 previous miscarriages!)

Good luck with the pregnancy and have a lovely holiday x

@BabloHoney Aw thank you so much! It's so nice to read messages like yours! I need to stop looking at the 1% and focus on the 99% haha! X
