My ds is Samuel Martin
dd is Eleanor Kate

Peachy · 03/06/2007 14:55

Florence is cool but one should never criticise a name

many 'naff' names are there for eprsonal reasons

If I ahd a girl she's have the middle name Patricia- very uncool, but a friend who passed on

I know nobody likes Harold, but its my Grandad and DH's Dad

nobody likes Stirling (well I say nobody, a few really like it- its a marmite name iykwim) but that's OK, they don't have to call their child that name do they?

Bibis · 03/06/2007 18:30

Cosmo
Ludovic
Valentine

Josephine
Oriel
Agnes

Names I like and if we had another may well use

matildax · 03/06/2007 18:41

my first dd is called laura, but my favourite name of all time is matilda! (obviously) however was not allowed to call my dd2 this, as dh thought it was a bit pretentious we settled for anya and my ds is johnny, which we both agree on is a "proper" little boys name Some of the oh so ultra modern "trendy" names kicking around at the moment, are imo just really fannyish and poncey!! lol. Everyone to there own i suppose........

tottie218 · 03/06/2007 19:44

My DD is Chloe Francesca, the only name we could agree on
If we had had a boy it would have been Jacob Xander.
Friends have Ella, Evie, Jorge, (pronounced George but looks unusual written down), Alfie and Kye.

Surprised to see a couple of Vincent's in the list, my dh is Vincent.

TaylorsMummy · 03/06/2007 19:48

oh,i like kye,i might use that if i ever have a boy

babybore · 03/06/2007 19:51

Our dd is called Lilah (pronounced Lie-la). I thought it was the obvious way to spell her name and I love the spelling but frequently it gets written as Lila or Lyla.

Other names I like are Ruby (but too popular now), Meredith and my fave is Marina but my dp hates it.

Bibis · 03/06/2007 20:13

Marina sounds like mirena, it's ok if you don't mind her being named after a coil

Otter · 04/06/2007 10:26

BIbis i am loving your names
ds4 was born on valentines and we toyes with v - i also love Ariel and dont care if people say silly things

scorpio1 · 04/06/2007 10:39

i love cosmo

matildax · 04/06/2007 12:08

I think what you have got to think about, is your child has got to actually live with this name,All very well to have a "trendy" baby name, which may be cute or whatever, but for gods sake how exactly is it going to sound when your adorable babies are teenagers?????? ................. just a thought.

my dd is Meredith

my dd is Cassius Felix

allgonebellyup · 04/06/2007 12:12

if i had another dd it would be:

Isla or Florence, but my sisters baby is called florence

CristinaTheAstonishing · 04/06/2007 12:13

Marina is lovely. Now you've mentioned it, yes, it sounds like Mirena coil. But then Amelia means without limbs in medical terminology, how helpful is that?

matildax · 04/06/2007 12:14

have said what about her? imo some of the names mentioned here are completely stupid, its like the age of "celebrity"...... god forbid in the future we dont have random names like door, window or fence being called out in school registers!!!!

cupcakesgalore · 04/06/2007 12:15

We have a Samuel, an Olivia, an Amelia - middle names Martha and Clementine. For the next one Ilike Barnaby (Barney) or Barnabas. DH likes Benedict. for a girl, stuggling - perhaps Lottie (charlotte in full), or Polly or Lucy but not inspired particularly by any of these. also had thought of Tristan for a boy.

mummyto2littleprincess · 04/06/2007 14:02

my dd1 told my sis that were calling the baby chloe if its a girl only because she like bratz and there a chloe in there but spelt cloe i do like the name though

nappyaddict · 05/06/2007 00:19

i like clementine, would use clemmie for short.

meredith i like too but i had a horrible chemistry teacher called mrs meredith once upon a time.

nappyaddict · 05/06/2007 00:22

Otter · 05/06/2007 00:23

nappyaddict · 05/06/2007 00:24
