toadstool · 05/06/2007 09:35

Cassius Clay, birth and early career name of Muhammed Ali.

I like Chiara and Clelia, and have a sneaking liking for Ombeline. But no kid in the UK would want to keep correcting how people pronounce or spell their name over and over again (Ciara? Celia?, Ombiwhat?), so I guess they're all out...

My DD is Lola, had many arguments about it during my PG, but the first time i held her after she was delivered, I cuddles her and said shhhh Lola dont cry - DP never questioned it again

Princesspowersparkle · 14/06/2007 12:31

nappy addict: like anais (the perfume) but with an L.
We really liked it as a first name but it sounds a bit like 'a lay' and we didn't want jokes about her being an 'easy lay' etc

Amelie or Emily for a girl
Thomas for a boy

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 14/07/2007 20:15

Noah for a boy
Willow for a girl

Ambi · 14/07/2007 20:23

I loved so many unusal names - but all were discarded by hubby as they apparently were too pornstar like

We've decided on a simple, normal name; Louise.

Feel better about this as spelling of names can be pretty hard these days,(our normal surname is ALWAYS spelt wrong) and if she becomes a lawyer, didn't want her to embarrassed to be trixiebell

  • Disclaimer - tried not to offend by picking that name, tho prob did!!!
PurpleLostPrincess · 14/07/2007 23:11

((waves at HIWBB!!!))

Don't think I've seen this thread before so apologies if I've already posted on it!!

We were going to have Corbin for a boy but we're having a girl...

Middle names will definitely be: Grace Emmeline

First name options are either Amethyst (can be shortened to Amie Aimee or Mistie) or Cerys (welsh for love).

I also like Harmony but DH doesn't like it.

My DD1 is called Connie.

HTH xxxx

nappyaddict · 15/07/2007 02:45

harmony and amethyst are pretty.
