Someone in my work today has came in after being diagnosed with shingles. I have never had chicken pox before so I phone the midwife and they took my details and said someone will call be back. That was over 4 hours ago. I tried calling again but told I am next in the queue.

Any advice on what I should do?

I was told that as long as they're covered it's not an issue. Ring your midwife back though.

My nan had shingles a couple of months ago and was told by her doctor not to see me and I’ve had chicken pox before. I work in a hospital and if we have a patient with shingles I can’t look after them.
Keep phoning your midwife. Maybe stay off work until you’ve spoken to her?

Yeah I will keep trying. I been around her yesterday before she found out and today when she told us I moved to the other side of the building as a precaution. My doctor told me to call the midwife straight away.

I have until 11.30 tomorrow to try get hold of someone but my partner is really concerned .
