Half way through second pregnancy with second time around gestational thrombotetopenia. Anyone else going through similar with pesky, problem platelets?

I was told mine were low last time but nothing was done about it, I guess they have to be really low before they worry. Yet to find out if it's an issue this time round.

Mine were very low last time. Was on steroids, an immunoglobulin transfusion and was transferred to a larger hospital for delivery in case I needed a platelet transfusion. Time will tell how things will go this time around.

Mine dropped through my pregnancy, although it was only mentioned at one of my last appointments. Midwife took extra bloods to check them again and I was sent to see a consultant who insisted I give birth at hospital, rather than MLU. Annoying though as when I checked my test results the numbers actually weren't THAT low. Obviously not the same experience as you, as in my case it seemed like they were being overly cautious. I didn't have any issues after my birth.

No thrombotetopenia symptoms during pregnancy apart from the platelet figure. Levels returned to normal after I had my baby. It's so frustrating!
