We're booked in for a scan I believe we're 6-7 weeks.

Did anyone else do this for reassurance?

Any lovely stories?

Please don't scare me!

I had a scan at 8 week for reassurance, I had a previous miscarriage at 6 week so I knew I couldn't wait till 12 week to find out! I'm not 30 week pregnant and looking forward to my baby boy arriving! Good luck with you scan!

FoxAndBear · 09/07/2018 17:42

Yes, we had one. I was prepared to need an internal scan but they saw the sac no problem with an external one which was a nice bonus! I was 8 weeks I think. There wasn't much to see other than a tiny ball of baby next to a tiny ball of yolk sac. She did a quick check for fibroids and a general uterus scan but otherwise not much!
Good luck and hope all goes well for you.

I had an early scan at 7+1 weeks with DC2 and saw a lovely little heartbeat. It was amazing reassuraning... feel I must add that it was an NHS one rather than private... I fell down the stairs and started getting cramps and bleeding. If you scan really early you might not see much but at 7 weeks you should we fine. Seeing that heartbeat was the best thing in the world. Make sure and get a picture! Good luck x

Kate123cl · 09/07/2018 18:18

I had one due to pain. They saw a heartbeatSmile

Iwouldliketostopfeelingsicknow · 09/07/2018 18:24

I had one at 8 weeks as I couldn’t wait until 12 weeks to find out everything was OK.

Scan was amazing although I know I’m not out of the danger zone yet. I’m almost 9 weeks.

Baby160P · 09/07/2018 19:04

Thanks everyone, that's the thing I know we're not out of the 'danger zone' until 12 weeks ish but I am worried of ectopic/ miscarriage in early stages so was desperate. Not that I've had any bleeding but that doesn't always happen I guess. Fingers crossed xx

Good luck. I went for an early private scan at 8 weeks, to find I was actually 12 weeks Shock so prepare to not be quite where you think Wink

Relaxdontdoit · 09/07/2018 22:43

Hi @baby160 I have a reassurance scan on Wednesday after 6 mc. I'm around 6-8 weeks and absolutely petrified! I've had no bleeding or bad pains just the normal pregnancy cramps and aches. When is your scan? X

snowbrigade · 10/07/2018 07:36

I had a private one on Saturday at 8+5, mostly because next weekend I'm traveling abroad for two weeks. Wanted to know that it's not an ectopic and that in general things seem to be progressing fine before traveling. Two days after coming back from my holidays I'll have my 12 week scan, can't wait!

BlueeSpottyTiger · 10/07/2018 11:16

I have had one as i lost my previous baby in a mmc at 12.5 :( and i had a mc just before that.
I really needed the reassurance this time.

I had to have one on the nhs at 5ish weeks due to groin pain (suspected ectopic- all fine) that was internal.
Then i paid for a private one at 10+2 which was a few days before Christmas so I could tell my parents :)
So far in this pregnancy I've had 7 scans, 3 private 4 nhs.
I'm 38+3 now, Baby due next weekend and so excited for dd who is 2.5 to become a big sister finally :)
Goodluck xx

We had one at 7+2. We went private to do it because I travel a lot with my husband for work and we wanted early reassurance. I can wholeheartedly say it was completely worth every penny...when we heard our little bump's heartbeat for the first time it was the best sound in the world. I also feel like I'm definitely pregnant now if that makes sense? Will be having my 12 week in a week's time and fingers crossed all is still ok!! Good luck OP!! Thanks

Baby160P · 10/07/2018 11:39

Thanks all, we had one last night and are 7 weeks exactly. Saw the little heart beat. ❤️ x

We had loads - 5 weeks, 7 weeks, 10 weeks and 12 weeks. First was NHS due to pain but the rest were private for reassurance.

Now 32 weeks and she kicks me in the ribs for reassurance! Grin

fourplusonemore · 10/07/2018 11:41

Just saw your update! Congratulations! Thanks

Relaxdontdoit · 10/07/2018 11:48

Congratulations xxx

HannahB1993 · 10/07/2018 14:17

I had one at 6weeks 4 days and found out I was having twins, two sacs and two heartbeats were seen. Then had another one at 9 weeks and everything looked perfect. I’ve got my 12 week scan next Saturday and I wanna to have another early scan but I know it’s stupid so I’ll have to wait!!

HannahB1993 · 10/07/2018 14:18

And congratulations didn’t see that until I posted 😊 exciting times x

Baby160P · 10/07/2018 14:55

Thank you everyone, if it wasn't for expense I'd have one every week to make sure baby is ok 🙈

Let's hope I have the luck you had I got my scan tomorrow at 10.30 so scared xx

hailseitan · 10/07/2018 17:34

I had an early 7 week scan because I had IVF. I wasn't expecting to see much as it was so early, but there was a little heartbeat fluttering away on the screen.

Hope yours goes well Smile

hailseitan · 10/07/2018 17:35

Ok just saw that you had it and saw a heartbeat too, yay! Congrats!

LittleFox01 · 10/07/2018 17:35

Congratulations Thanks

Glad everything went well for you.

I had early scans every two weeks (nhs - under recurrent miscarriage clinic) from 6 weeks - 12 weeks, they were very reassuring as I have suffered 3 miscarriage at 17 weeks, 8 weeks and 5 weeks! However I now have a 10 week old little boy asleep in his crib, tired out after baby sensory group 😊

I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy with as little worry as possible xx

HannahB1993 · 11/07/2018 07:34

@relaxdontdoit Good luck with your scan today at 10.30😊
