Hi ladies, sorry if this has been asked before.

My scan is coming up in a few weeks and I just can't remember whether I'm supposed to take a urine sample? Does anyone know please?

Thanks xxx

Yes. Sample for all appointments pretty much.

Havetothink · 08/07/2018 18:15

I didn't have to, might depend on your area?

pastabest · 08/07/2018 18:18

I've never needed a urine sample for any scans.

This is DC2 and I can't remember what I did with my first at all? Lol.

Suppose I could take one just in case? Just didn't want to be caught out.

Thanks guys xx

I didn’t take a sample to any scan appointments, just my midwife appointments. I did had to have a blood test because I opted for screening

Should say on the letter if you need one, otherwise I wouldn't bother, they can always give you a pot and ask you to go.

Is your 12 week scan also your booking in appointment? You’ll need a sample for the booking in appt. They are done together at my local hospital.

Thegirlhasnoname · 08/07/2018 19:10

I didn’t take one for the 12 week scan but afterwards when the nurses were doing the tests necessary for the screening tests, I was asked where my sample was. Said I didn’t have one as the letter didn’t make mention of it and they said it was fine but to make sure there was a sample for my next midwife appointment

Yakadee · 08/07/2018 20:08

I've already had my booking in appointment and they booked the scan over the phone so never actually had a letter.

Guess I can always do one if they need x

I didn’t need one for my 12 week scan, but needed to do one for my emergency scan at 16 weeks.

My hospital has lots of little pots next to the toilets, so you should be able to do one there if needed :)
