Sorry I know this is probably going to sound really silly and ridiculous but currently pregnant with my second. I adore and love my 4 year old son to bits, I'm just worried I won't feel the same with this little one and how to share the love evenly, I never knew you could love so much until I gave birth. Again iknow this must sound silly but I have been so anxious about it. Anyone else had the same feelings or can reassure me?!

We all feel the same, but you will love the new baby just as much. Trust me, you will.

Monapaloma · 08/07/2018 17:17

You will love your baby just as much, but don't worry if it isn't immediate! It sometimes takes a while . But it will come.

Alanamackree · 08/07/2018 17:19

For me it’s a totally different love for each child. There’s really no way to compare them. It’s not more or less, it’s just an utterly different experience.

My gran told me that your heart swells for each child, and that the more souls you love the more love you have to give.

Halfblindbunny · 08/07/2018 17:20

You absolutely will love them, you might love them differently but you will definitely love them.

Panicmode1 · 08/07/2018 17:29

I think we've all felt the same before having our second and subsequent children - I have four and adore them all equally, but differently if that makes sense. All will be well!

Brunsdon1 · 08/07/2018 17:34

I worried about the same but I promise you will love them , for me I was very lucky and it was immediate but that's not the case for everyone and that is ok as well

Now I couldn't imagine a world without both of them...and pp is right there is no limit to how much your heart can swell to love as many children as you have equally

@user1495827045 - I know exactly what you mean. I'm expecting DC2 and wondering how I could possibly have any more room as could burst with the love I feel for my little boy! Everyone tells me you do and just want and see.

I'm one of 3 and my sisters have 2 each and they all tell me it's possible xx

Ellieboolou27 · 08/07/2018 18:06

100% possible, took me about 2-3 months to feel it though as was so shell shocked at how much harder it is having 2 kids!
I live both my children so much and could never imagine life without dd2 now.
Totally normal to feel like you do.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 08/07/2018 20:28

You will love it the same. The love doesn't need to be shared, it doubles .

Yakadee · 08/07/2018 21:07

@Chocolatecoffeeaddict - aww that's cute x

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 08/07/2018 21:12

It sounds cringy but it's so true. I've got four kids and wondered this when I was pregnant with my second. Happy to say I love each one of them the same and could not choose between them.

Cosmoa · 08/07/2018 21:31

I was going to say.. I've heard that love it doubled rather than shared Smile
