Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone could put my mind at ease. Had my 12 week scan today. Baby would not keep still, she found it really hard to get measurements etc, when she did the baby’s nuchal fold measured 3.4, the cut off is 3.5.. I’m worried that it’s on the higher end and I haven’t stopped crying since Iv come home. Iv been anxious this whole pregnancy as it is, my other half says I need to chill but I can’t help worry. Iv ready a lot online where people have had bigger measurements and everything has been fine. Anyone had anything similar.

We had a measurement of 3.9 - my odds for Down's came back as 1 in 5 but after all the testing baby has nothing wrong (I'm now 26 weeks and have had three detailed scans as well as CVT). You will likely get your results quite quickly given your NT was at the higher end. Remember even if the risk is high, there is still more chance of baby being fine than not. I know how scary it is but try not to panic. It is very unlikely that your baby has any abnormalities xxx

Thanks for replying. I’m glad everything is well with your baby. I know it could have been a lot worse and that it’s still in the normal range but I just can’t help but worry, all I’ve done is cry since Iv come back from scan and now I feel bad for being so negative. Just finding this pregnancy so rough so far! I’m waiting on blood tests so I guess I shouldn’t worry until then, she said they’d call me by Friday if anything flagged up

Hi ya, I was in actually the same position as you yesterday when I had my 12 week scan, but my reading was 2.8 but my hospital said that was high end, put us in a side room and got a midwife to come and talk to us. I couldn’t stop crying either. Now waiting on blood results, I am also 36yrs so that goes against me too. My husband also told me not to panic and stress but you can’t help it can you when you just want everything to be ok and then are told it might not be. Fingers crossed for you, hopefully your bloods are fine and you are low risk xxx

Mine was 2.9 but it was at 13+6. My odds were 1 in 100,000.

Hi OP, I’m sorry you have this worry. It’s really hard, I know.

My little girl’s measurement at 12 weeks was 4mm. It was 2.8 at 13 weeks. We were offered CVS to check for chromosome conditions and it came back clear. We also had fetal heart scans and an early anomaly scan by consultant which all looked normal.

She was born very near to her due date, a straightforward delivery, and is cuddled up to me feeding now. She’s nearly four months old and a perfect, smiley baby 😊

I know how hard it is so please feel free to pm me if any questions
