Hi Team Preggers.

I am 5 weeks pregnant, so early days. Also my first pregnancy. Exciting!

I have a bicornuate uterus and I'm wondering if i am likely to get an early scan?

I had my first doctors appointment today and they couldn't tell me. They said the midwife would advise, but that she would call in the next three weeks... which feels like a long time. Lol.

Thanks in advance
Xx

Hello! I'm 10 weeks with my second and also have a bicornuate uterus! Found out halfway through my first pregnancy. I was offered more scans the first time round and ended up having a c section as the baby got stuck breach under my ribs in one side of my womb. This time they don't seem quite so concerned so haven't been offered any additional scans although they have said it will most likely be a c section again (my womb is almost completely joined in two!).

Thanks for your reply. I suppose there is no 'usual'. It all depends on each individual case. I'm just a bit worried that I might not get the care I should.

Hi. Just thought I'd update you from my 12 week scan! My womb has stretched after my first pregnancy but I'm still being referred to a surgeon after 20 weeks to discuss c sections. I've now been told I can deliver naturally if I would like but would be a doctor led birth! How are you getting on?

Hi. Thanks for the info. In honesty, I just feel like I get pushed away by medical professionals. They said the midwife would call within 3 weeks and four weeks went by with nothing. I had to chase them down, was given 3 different phone numbers to call and left two answer phone messages.

Finally got a call back a few days ago and have my first appointment on Tuesday at 1. They hadn't seen any paper work for me so I mentioned my uterus issues and they didn't really say anything. The hard thing is no one seems to want to help, if that makes sense. It's my first baby, I have no idea what should be happening. I feel I've always had rubbish Drs etc, which seems to be a theme.

Did you have an early scan at any stage? When I found out about my uterus, I went to see a private gynaecologist. My Drs were awful and didn't tell me anything. When I say a private one, she explained everything to me. I'm sure I also remember her saying that the position of the foetus is important, so I will have an early scan. Yet I barely get a phone call! Rubbish.

Sorry for the rant xx
