When to call hospital?

So I’m 30 + 3, have noticed I’ve barely had any movement today so far. I’ve tried ice cold water, laying on my left side, ice cream.. all the things that usually gets baby having a party but nothing.
I’ve just read my hospital notes and it says to lay on left side for 2 hours and if no luck call delivery suite.. but how much longer do I wait. I suffer from anxiety massively but don’t want to waste anyone’s time or sound like I’m over reacting. Currently laid on my bed in tears not knowing what to do!

Call them now

Chocolatecake12 · 02/07/2018 14:00

Phone them. That’s what they’re there for. You are not wasting anyone’s time.
As an aside I found laying in a cool bath helped me to see the movements.
But give them a call and get checked out.

Thank you I’m here now. It’s just really really unlike him to make no movement for this amount of time

How are you doing, Char? Hopefully you've been seen now and are on your way home.
Definitely the right call to have gone in.

Thank you all! Everything is fine.. took a little while to find his heartbeat which really freaked me but once they found it everything was fine. Stayed on monitor for 45 mins and he finally started to move 30 mins in! Just had a look at my notes and says 4/5 engaged! Is this normal at 30 weeks?!

4/5 on notes generally means how much of the head they can feel above your pelvis, so that would mean 1/5 engaged.

ineedwine99 · 03/07/2018 11:30

Glad all ok OP :-)

babybrainusedtobesmart · 03/07/2018 11:39

The lower the engaged number the further off you are. 1/5 would be literally head out! 4/5 is still nice and snug

SiolGhoraidh · 03/07/2018 12:16

Glad all is ok. I was in last night for the same thing, wondering if it was the heat.

My baby went mental as soon as they got the monitor on (having been totally still for about 4 hours), leaving me feeling like a complete fraud, but the midwife was very reassuring and said I did the right thing.
