Probably just panicking but... 36 weeks and pains in lower stomach

I don't remember braxton hicks with DD1 so I'm not sure if this is them.

currently experiencing a tightening sensation in my lower stomach, a bit painful. Baby is wriggling around loads so not sure if it could just be him prodding?

Sounds like Braxton Hicks. A lot of people seem to be getting them in this hot weather. They can be triggered by dehydration so make sure you're drinking enough.

I've drunk more water today than any other day-
The painful bits seem to be a little worse now.

Might call midwife just to be safe.

It does sound like braxton hicks and possibly the head engaging or pushing down there a bit as mine is ever so painful when that happens, I find it more after I have been walking around and it usually dies down when I sit down and rest for a bit. Maybe try some paracetamol? Obviously if you are worried give the midwife a call for advice.

Still panicking tbh- the pains are on and off but my stomach seems to be constantly getting tight across the top then relaxing for a few minutes then repeat....
hurts enough to make me sweat a little- though this heat is contributing

Is there an MAU close to where you are? It might be worth just giving them a call at the very least to put your mind at rest.
I keep having them too but I’m 39 weeks now and have had them since 34ish weeks. I can’t remember ever having them with my first❤️
