FTM - 36 weeks and 2 days. Starting to panic at every sign something is different. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm sure it's nothing and it's not so much that I think something is "wrong", just unsure on what they may mean.

The last week my BH have been getting stronger and more frequent to the point of actually being quite uncomfortable at times. Baby is as of last Thursday 2/5 into my pelvis. Midwife said she won't go down much further now. Friday I lost some of my mucas plug, only the smallest amount (about the size of your little fingernail), although none since beyond increase in discharge. I've been tested for thrush and a uti and have both come back clean. Had a huge burst of energy the last couple days Despite the uncomfort in my legs and the cramps. Haven't slept that much but the sleep i have had has been a lot better.

As of late last night and today BH has gotten even stronger. And has turned into a very slight backache and period like shooting pain that goes around and under my bump into my pelvis which then (not every time) can slide into my thighs and make me feel like I've just gone for a run.

I've also been a lot more emotional. When I'm happy I'm over the moon hyper happy. When something sets me off I end up crying very easily.

Changing positions doesn't help. Bath doesn't help. Walking instead of sitting or visa versa doesn't help. All things that usually did.

They aren't in any times, or super frequent (couple an hour) or even painful, a couple have taken my breath away and caused a usually chatty me to shut up. But they are more than bearable.

Baby is active, but doesn't seem to have as much "omph" in her movements. It's like she's having a lazy day!

I've been drinking loads of water to make sure it isn't dehydration. But beyond that I'm at a loss. It seems too minimal to be any sign of prelabour as I expected it to be a lot worse. But at the same time I'm starting to be a bit curious as to what may be causing it as it is certainly a new development.

Could this just be pregnancy symptoms worsening in general or likely signs baby is getting ready to make her way into this world? I really need her to hold out until this Friday so I can have my home birth!

Thank you all in advance. Sorry for the ramblings!

It sounds a bit like prelabour but I'm a FTM and only 26 weeks so I don't really know. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will comment soon! Fingers crossed baby holds out until Friday for you xx

I did wonder. I read somewhere that could mean baby could be here anywhere within the next few days to weeks?! All these new sensations are so frustrating aren't they? It makes me feel so silly and dumb despite All my reading because reality is it's hard to know if a pain you feel is like what it's described to feel?!

Good luck with your pregnancy :)

I’m pregnant with my second and all above sounds normal. Trust me, you’ll know when it’s actual labour. Time any intense contractions. Get lots of rest and hopefully baby here soon xx

I got my terms wrong, I meant the latent fase rather than actual labour. Think I'm just getting too excited at the prospect of meeting her and reading into every little thing!

And congratulations :)

It sounds like things are getting ready to happen in the next few weeks. I’ve heard other women describe similar although personally I didn’t have any symptoms until my waters broke in bed followed by immediate contractions. With actual labour you won’t be in any doubt. But these signs you’re having are encouraging that your body is getting ready 😊

InNeedOfALieInNow · 02/07/2018 09:26

The difference between BH and contractions evidently is that BH will stop if you move around. I can’t comment as I’ve never felt a single BH in two pregnancies

Whether it’s BH or labour, there’s no need to worry. You’ll know when it’s time to go to hospital

Fingers crossed she's on the way sometime soon then!

My BH have started to take longer to go when I change what I'm doing during them. And I've had a bit of a bad tummy and felt slightly sick this morning, but that may have been all the junk food I shoved down my face yesyerday Blush . But still no more mucas plug.

All of this excitment and "is it going to start soon?!" and I bet she will likely be a late little monkey in the end!

I'm so excited at this point it's unreal. All these months hoping and praying she stays put and all goes well for her in there. Knowing I'm so close to the end And finally meeting my baby girl is just an incredible feeling. I cant help but look for any sign labour may be starting in the next few days/weeks.

I have been experiencing most of what you have described since 36 weeks and I am 40+1 weeks today.
