Hi
Visited my friend on Weds to see her newborn and there was another little boy there. Just got a text from my friend to say that little boy now has chicken pox. I have had them before but just wanted to see if there was any danger to baby?
Thanks
PPS (32 weeks on the dot!)

not if you've had cp .. you and baby are protected by your antibodies

Cool- thanks Twiglett! Just looked on NHS Direct (which I probably should have done in the first place) and they say the same!

would be a bit worried for the newborn you visited though, so your friend should consult her doctor if she hasn't already.

newborn should still be protected by mother's antibodies (assuming his mum has had cp) ... more so if she's breastfeeding

I wouldn't worry about a newborn and CP to be honest
