I'm 26 weeks and at 25+4 I woke up one morning for work and was having problems breathing, had dizziness couldnt do anything. Was told it wasn't asthma as my chest was clear but it could have been a panic attack I have history of these a long time ago but never that bad and didn't have anything to panic about and had the same symptoms this morning and again no reason for a panic attack or anxiety. On both occasions have happened when on morning shifts first one been 5:30 start and this one been 9:30 start.
I need advice on how I can stop it happening but i dont know the cause.

Sounds like a blood pressure issue, quite common in pregnancy. Do you know who it is you're supposed to contact with any concerns? Your midwife?

Could you try sleeping propped up a little to see if ot helps?
I*d assume it is to do with baby's position.

Could be anemia, maybe get your iron levels checked.

I was in Maternity unit at LGI and they said my iron is really good and Blood Pressure was fine. Could be her position

It could be a cardiac issue. I had dizzy spells, shortness of breath and feeling lightheaded when I was pregnant. My heart was going into AF but by the time i was put in an ecg machine it was always normal. When they finally spotted it on an ECG they took it very seriously. I couldn't have the drugs they wanted me to have because I was pregnant, it was scary. Feel your pulse next time it happens and if it's irregular call an ambulance or go to A&E.
