Steroid, Prednisone 50mg, 8 weeks preg

Help please!
Due to bout of IBS have been put on 50mg of the steroid Prednisone, oral. I am 8 weeks pregnant. I know I have to fix IBS problem but am terrified of affect on baby. Please can someone share similar experiences. Doctors not bothered and wud have me stay on steroid at high dose indefinitely which I know is crazy. Thanks so much for any input!

I was on steroids for a short while due to a severe chest infection at 16 weeks - research suggests it’s safe. Some women end up on steroids long term for hyperemesis. You being acutely unwell would be worse for the baby.
